☞TED Talkstalks, to stir your curiosity." (Technology, Entertainment, Design) Check it out. Do a "search" for any subject you're specifically interested in and voila! You're sure to learn something amazing in Ted talks
☞NPR"NPR, formerly National Public Radio, is a privately and publicly funded non-profit membership media organization that serves as a national syndicator to a network of 900 public radio stations in the United States." This is my fave for global news stories. I particularly love BBC World Service, my go to for news around the world, (around the block in my car!) It's a fun challenge when you frequent this station to see how many answers you can harness when you listen to Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me! Fresh Air with Terry Gross, informative and educational about the arts, people you want to know about. Always fascinating. There's even The Ted Radio Hour! A must for your car, 91.5 and now you have the link for home, as if you didn't know!
Breaking BadBreaking Bad - a riveting show which draws you in during a breathtaking scene with unimaginable suspense right from the start. Warning: take your high-blood pressure meds, this is a heart pounding, insane series, not for the faint hearted. It's a fabulous roller-coaster ride, that will keep you coming back for more agonizing discoveries. Don't peek ahead and you'll be continuously captivated by all of the twists and turns. You'll soon fall in love and then despise and then fall in love again with the all of the characters in this nail biting, white nuckle, great escape. You think you had problems? Hardly.
☞Orange is the New BlackOrange is the new Black: Based on a true story, I found this series true to life. You're sure to identify with Piper Chapman. She was going about her life, typical for a young woman in her thirties, having fallen in love, was about to launch a new product with Barney's. She had a bright future ahead when, BAM! Some old reptilian affects swooped in from some warped karma of the past, which landed her in prison. I didn't give it away... One of the components that I personally found most intriguing, was again, the character development of the other women in prison. You get to take a clear peek inside and feel a sincere sense of empathy for the women, with an understanding of the sad circumstances which land them in prison. Great story. A must see.
Catch up now. You can power watch it in a few sittings and be ready for the new season around the corner.
☞House of CardsIf this isn't the epitome of the quint essential Mr, "F. U." man, I don't know what is. In fact, maybe they gave the main character's (played by Kevin Spacey) wife, ( Robin Wright) the Wrong name. She would've been well suited as a; Felicia, or Fiona, Frankie? She's equally, quite the "F. U." woman, if ever there was one. Perhaps it sounds like a riddle, it is; and a must watch, intriguing, riveting, with a dash of preposterousness. Though it is fictional, the show is Inclined to make you wonder and aspire to do a little research of your own into the darker shades of politics, which frankly, (no pun intended,) I'll never understand. The more evil that's conveyed, the more mesmerizing and just when you think you've got it all figured out? The plot thickens.
☞The Walking DeadThe Walking Dead- Seems silly at first glance. Well... glance again. Because of the intense, crafty character development in this series, you must find out where they're taking you. How will they come out alive? What's it all about? Zombies? Perhaps not. Perhaps the zombies are just a metaphor for terrorism? Or disease and famine? You be the judge. This is another fast paced exciting series. The make-up is brilliant and believable, disturbing actually.
☞ The FallThe Fall: A bone- chilling, extremely disturbing story about yet another serial killer. Remember that show with David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson? Well this is not science fiction. But Gillian Anderson ( who played "Scully" in The X- Files,} is the main character in this show. She plays a "top dog" detective, designed and brought on to "crack the case" on this... well, I don't want to give anything away here. It's brilliantly acted, believable to the point where, you're sure to double lock your doors. DO NOT watch alone girlies....
